Uranium ores were mined in the years 1950-1958 at the Podgórze Mine in Kowary. At that time it was the most closely guarded mine of the People's Republic of Poland. Currently, a 1600 meter attractive tourist route has been made available to tourists. The mine is constantly monitored and is safe in terms of radiation. Due to the constant temperature of 8 degrees C and 97% humidity, it is recommended to bring warm clothing with you.
